冯丹，1977年12月15日生于河南省鹤壁市，自幼跟随父亲研习绘画。
1999年7月毕业于安阳师院（原安阳师专）。毕业创作《同在屋檐下》与毕业论文《论淮阳泥玩具的艺术形式》均获一等奖。
1999年10月作品《珍藏》在河南省第四届美术新人新作国画展品展览获一等奖。
1999年12月国画《劳作》荣获豫北六市迎接澳门回归新世纪书画联展二等奖。
2000年7月彩墨作品《静物》入选河南省第五届美术新人新作国画展；油画《村口》入选河南省首届美术新人新作油画、水彩水粉画展。
2001年7月油画《无题》入选“庆祝中国共产党成立80周年”河南美术作品展。
2001年9月考入中央美院油画助教二班。
2002年8月油画《敲门》在2002年河南省“群星奖”评比中获银奖。
2002年10月油画《走廊》在鹤壁市首届油画展中获一等奖。
2003年6月完成毕业创作油画（组画5幅）《故宫》和毕业论文《我的创作观》。
2003年7月由香港高格出版社出版画册《青核画记》。
2003年7月毕业创作油画组画《故宫》获中央美院“学院之光”2003届毕业生优秀作品展艺术传承奖油画系唯一提名。
2003年8月油画《清晨》入选第三届中国油画展（中国美术馆展出）。
2003年9月油画《故宫》组画在中央美院展厅展出。
2003年12月淇滨晚报在第6版做了整版特别报道——“画是我的日记“人物专访。
2003年12月油画《清晨》入选第三届中国油画精选作品展，于中国美术馆再次展出。
2004年1月批准为河南省美术家协会会员。
2004年2月鹤壁电视台《淇河风》栏目播出了人物专访——“清晨的阳光”。
2004年6月《中国油画》杂志第三期发表《故宫组画》
2004年7月油画《敲门》在河南省第十届美展中获铜奖。
2005年6月《油画艺术》报第7期刊登冯丹油画专版。
