王远(1965.8—)生于上海（蒙古族），现任华东师范大学美术系副系主任、教授、硕士生导师。中国美术家协会会员，上海欧美同学会文艺分会理事。
1989年毕业于首届上海大学美术学院油画系。
1992年——1998年在上海教育学院任教。
1998年至今在华东师范大学美术学系任教。
2004年——2005年由教育部选派赴俄罗斯列宾美术学院——访问交流学者。获俄罗斯联邦杜马文化委员会、
俄罗斯艺术科学院、圣彼得堡当局颁发的国际大师荣誉证书。
2007年由中国文联、中国美协、华师大双跨公派赴法国巴黎交流访问。
多次参加国内外重大学术展览，数篇论文发表于国家级艺术类核心刊物并出版王远个人画册。
2009年在《中国艺术》第一期（国家艺术类核心期刊）首次提出“涂象”艺术的概念。
王远的作品营造了一种艳丽、晃动的自由，展示了现代人对传统文化当代思考的另一种解释。

——现当代艺术，绘画，涂象艺术。
兼容并蓄于传统和当代、东方和西方。在教学上因材施教，使学生通过对艺术宏观的思考与具体的实践
