1972年6月出生于山东青州。1990年至1994年就读于山东艺术学院美术系油画专业；1994年至1997年于青岛大学任教；1997年至1999年考入中央美院油画系第十届助教研修班；1999年至2010年继续任教于青岛大学；2010年—2015年，任职山东美术馆馆长，2015年至今，中国人民共和国文化部中国艺术研究院中国油画院副院长、硕士研究生导师，中国美术家协会油画艺术委员会秘书长，山东省美术家协会副主席，山东省油画学会副主席，山东省政协常委，山东省社会新阶层知识分子联谊会常务副会长。
