杨力舟

 杨力舟,1942年生于山西临猗。画家。兼擅油画、中国画、书法、美术评论。先后毕业于西安美术学院、中央美术学院。曾参与筹建中国画研究院。中国美协顾问,中央文史研究馆馆员,中国国家画院顾问、院委、研究员。历任中国美协常务理事、副主席。文化部艺术局美术处处长,文化部高级职称评审委员,中国文联委员,中国美术馆馆长。2018年12月,当选中国美协第九届顾问。

杨力舟,王迎春-人物专访系列(共两集)

 杨力舟,1942年3月5日生,山西临猗县人。 1957年入西安美术学院学习绘画、雕塑。

1959年与王迎春首次合作工笔四条屏《四女图》,并发表。

1961年西安美术学院附中毕业。入该院大学部油画系。

1966年西安美术学院毕业。

1968年在山西太原印刷厂从事印刷设计。

1972年调进山西省美术创作组从事油画、国画创作。

1978年考入中央美术学院国画系人物画研究班深造。得到叶浅予蒋兆和李可染诸多名家指点,并加入中国美术家协会。

1980年中央美术学院国画系研究班毕业,与王迎春合作三联画《黄河在咆哮》及《农乐图》获叶浅予奖学金,同年赴杭州展出,后又到沈阳、重庆、广州展出。在香港参加“中央美术学院研究生毕业作品展览”。分配到文化部中国画创作组工作,参加筹建中国画研究院。

1982年在河南开封举办《杨力舟、王迎春国画联展》,展出作品70幅。

1984年与王迎春合作国画《太行铁壁》,连环画《小二黑结婚》参加全国第六届美术作品展览。前者获优秀作品金质奖,北京市建国三十五周年文艺作品荣誉奖。调文化部艺术局任美术处处长。

1985年《太行铁壁》获中国人民解放军第二届文艺评奖大奖。当选为中国美术家协会常务理事。

1986年《小二黑结婚》获全国第二届连环画二等奖。曾参加香港《当代中国画展》,苏联莫斯科、明斯克《中国现代绘画展览》,印度新德里《中国当代绘画展》,东方美术交流学会画展,赴日本、澳大利亚等地展览。

1987年在内蒙古呼和浩特举办《杨力舟、王迎春国画新作展》。1988年在台湾台北举办画展。

1989年调任中国美术馆常务副馆长、国家一级美术师。

出版有:《杨力舟画集》《杨力舟画选》《杨力舟速写集》《杨力舟·王迎春画集》《当代画史经典作品集·杨力舟卷》《国家重大历史题材美术创作工程入选画家作品集·王迎春杨力舟卷》《艺苑摭言》(文集)等。

艰辛起步

1942年,杨力舟生于山西临猗县一个农民家庭,因为贫病交加,一岁时母亲被盲肠炎夺走了年轻的生命。据后来大人们告诉他,母亲在临行之前,还把他抱在怀里最后一次喝下她的乳汁。5岁时,杨力舟过继给姑父母,由山西老家投奔兰州。养父母曾希望杨力舟学医,哪怕兵荒马乱,也能有碗饭吃。没想到他却爱上了绘画,跟着高年级的画友写写画画。又偶然遇到一位来自山西老家的文化人,教他练习书法。后来,汪希曾由南艺毕业后支援大西北,在回民中学任教,杨力舟跟他学画,画静物、画油画,自此接触到西方绘画。高年级的杨国光、潘兹培等画友率先考上西安美院附中,把杨力舟也带上了这条路。

 

同学少年

1957年,15岁的杨力舟独自背个铺盖卷到西安应考。同时考取的还有一位山西女同乡叫王迎春。40人的班级里,他们是年纪最小的学生,也是学习最用功的学生。第三学年学校分专业,他与王迎春商定各学一套,分头攻关。杨选择油画和雕塑专业,王选择国画和雕塑专业。为了齐心协力画大画而努力多学一些本领。

《四女图》是反映劳动妇女离开锅台、炕头,走向田间地头、生产一线的情景,作品的主人公均有生活原型。王迎春擅长捕捉灵感,胆识过人,充满创作激情。《四女图》由她起稿,却因准备不足而显得力不从心,杨力舟自告奋勇,帮助她完成了此作,被《陕西画报》刊用,时间是1959年。这是他们两人第一次合作、第一次发表作品,并由此走到一起,成就了一生姻缘。

 

艺术伉俪

1966年他们毕业分配到北京,却又因故离职,双双回到山西太原,到一家印刷厂上班。1970年,杨力舟与王迎春联手创作了油画《平型关大捷》,是他们从西安美院毕业之后的第一幅主题性创作,当时曾专门到某部杨力舟与爱人王迎春
体验生活,沿晋北长城一带收集素材,直到作品出炉,历时达一年之久。《平型关大捷》以写实手法刻画了典型环境下的英雄群像。到了1972年,这对从未放下过画笔的“黄金搭档”创作了油画《文武之道,一张一弛》。随后创作了国画《挖山不止》。他们同陈永贵很熟,早在多年前就曾给他画过像,画罢了请他签名,老陈笑说,我这两天刚学会写“陈永贵”这三个字,这会儿就用上了。他们曾多次到大寨体验生活,协助大寨展览馆开展工作,与陈永贵一同参加劳动,耳濡目染,作画时的心情迫不及待,白天下地干活,收工之后连夜画出素描稿。

如果说《文武之道》《挖山不止》《给毛主席写信》等作品还只是开局,是其成名作,那么,《黄河在咆哮》《火线上的姐妹》《太行铁壁》《小二黑结婚》等则是其代表作,标志杨力舟、王迎春的创作迎来巅峰期。

Resume

 Yang Lizhou was born on March 5, 1942 in Linyi County, Shanxi Province. In 1957, he joined Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts to study painting and sculpture.

In 1959, he first collaborated with Wang Yingchun on four screens of "Four Women's Pictures" and published them.

Graduated from secondary school attached to Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in 1961. He was admitted to the Department of Oil Painting of the University Department of the College.

Graduated from Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in 1966.

In 1968, he was engaged in printing design in Shanxi Taiyuan Printing Factory.

In 1972, he was transferred to Shanxi Art Creation Group to engage in oil painting and traditional Chinese painting creation.

In 1978, he was admitted to the Research Class of Figure Painting in the Department of Traditional Chinese Painting, Central Academy of Fine Arts. Ye Shaoyu, Jiang Zhaohe, Li Keran and many famous artists pointed out, and joined the Chinese Artists Association.

In 1980, he graduated from the research class of the Department of Traditional Chinese Painting of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and won Ye Shaoyu a scholarship for the trilogy "The Yellow River is roaring" and "Agricultural Music Tu", which he collaborated with Wang Yingchun. He went to Hangzhou for exhibition in the same year, and then to Shenyang, Chongqing and Guangzhou for exhibition. He participated in the exhibition of graduate works of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Hong Kong. He was assigned to the Chinese Painting Creation Group of the Ministry of Culture and participated in the preparation of the Academy of Chinese Painting.

In 1982, a joint exhibition of Yang Lizhou and Wang Yingchun was held in Kaifeng, Henan Province, with 70 works on display.

In 1984, he cooperated with Wang Yingchun in the traditional Chinese painting Taihang Iron Wall and the comic strip Little Erhei Marriage. He participated in the 6th National Art Exhibition. The former won the Golden Prize for Excellent Works and the Honorary Prize for Literary and Art Works on the 35th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of Beijing. The Art Bureau of the Ministry of Mediation and Culture is the Director of the Art Department.

In 1985, "Taihang Iron Wall" won the Second Literature and Art Award of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. He was elected as the executive director of the Chinese Artists Association.

In 1986, "Little Two Black Marriage" won the second national comic book prize. He has participated in the Hong Kong Contemporary Chinese Painting Exhibition, the Moscow and Minsk Modern Chinese Painting Exhibition of the Soviet Union, the Contemporary Chinese Painting Exhibition of New Delhi, India, and the Oriental Art Exchange Society Painting Exhibition. He has gone to Japan and Australia for exhibitions.

In 1987, a new exhibition of Chinese paintings by Yang Lizhou and Wang Yingchun was held in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia. In 1988, an exhibition of paintings was held in Taipei, Taiwan.

In 1989, he was transferred to the Standing Vice-Curator of the Chinese Art Museum and a national first-class artist.

Hard Start

In 1942, Yang Lizhou was born in a farmer's family in Linyi County, Shanxi Province. Because of poverty and illness, his mother was killed by cecumitis when she was one year old. Later, adults told him that his mother held him in her arms and drank her milk for the last time before she left. At the age of 5, Yang Lizhou passed on to his aunt and parents and went to Lanzhou from his hometown in Shanxi. The adoptive parents had hoped that Yang Lizhou would learn medicine and have a bowl of rice even if he was in disorder. Unexpectedly, he fell in love with painting and wrote with his senior painters. I came across a cultural man from Shanxi province and taught him to practice calligraphy. Later, Wang Xi supported Northwest China after graduation from Nanyi and taught at Huimin Middle School. Yang Lizhou studied painting with him, painting still life and oil painting, and then came into contact with Western painting. Yang Guoguang, Pan Zipei and other senior painters took the lead in the entrance examination to the attached high school of Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts, and took Yang Lizhou along the way.

Classmate Youth

In 1957, 15-year-old Yang Lizhou came to Xi'an alone to take the exam. At the same time, Wang Yingchun, a female fellow countrywoman from Shanxi Province, was also admitted. In the class of 40 students, they are the youngest and the most diligent. In the third academic year, the school is divided into specialties. He and Wang Yingchun agreed to learn one set of courses and tackle key problems separately. Yang chose oil painting and sculpture, while Wang chose Chinese painting and sculpture. In order to make concerted efforts to draw big paintings and strive to learn more skills.

"Four Women's Pictures" reflects the situation that working women leave pottery and Kangtou and go to the field and production line. The protagonists in the works all have life prototypes. Wang Yingchun is good at capturing inspiration, brave and knowledgeable, full of creative passion. "Four Women's Pictures" was originated by her, but she was unable to prepare for it. Yang Lizhou volunteered to help her complete the work. It was published by Shaanxi Pictorial in 1959. This is the first time that they cooperate and publish their works. From this, they come together and make a lifelong marriage.

Artistic couples

In 1966, they graduated and assigned to Beijing, but they left their jobs for some reason. They returned to Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, and went to work in a printing factory. In 1970, Yang Lizhou and Wang Yingchun jointly created the oil painting "Pingxing Guandajie", which was their first thematic creation after graduation from Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts. At that time, Yang Lizhou and his lover Wang Yingchun were specially created.

Experience life, collect materials along the Great Wall of North Shanxi, until the works come out, lasted for a year. "Pingxing Guandajie" depicts the heroic groups in the typical environment in a realistic way. By 1972, this pair of "golden partners" who never put down their brushes had created the oil painting "The Way of Civil and Martial Arts, One Relax One by One". Later, he created the Chinese painting "More than Digging Mountain". They are very familiar with Chen Yonggui. They painted him many years ago and asked him to sign his name. Chen said with a smile that I had just learned to write the three words "Chen Yonggui" these two days, and now I use them. They have been to Dazhai many times to experience life, to assist the Dazhai Exhibition Hall to carry out its work, and Chen Yonggui to participate in labor, immersion, painting when the mood can not wait, working in the field during the day, after finishing the night to draw sketches.
