高翔

高翔(1688--1753),字凤岗,号西唐,又号犀堂、西堂、樨堂等,别号山林外臣,擅画山水花卉,间作佛像人物。篆刻与汪士慎丁敬齐名。又与高凤翰潘西凤沈凤并称"四凤"。高翔少年时期崇尚石涛,后与石涛结识为友,常相往来,情谊深长,受益颇深,是石涛的挚友和忠实追随者

简介

高翔晚年时由于右手残废,常以左手作画。与石涛金农汪士慎为友。清朝的李斗在《扬州画舫录》中有过这样的记载:“石涛死,西唐每岁春扫其墓,至死弗辍”。意思是说,石涛死后,高翔每年春天都去扫墓,直到死都没有断过。从这里也可以看出他们之间的友谊很深。高翔除擅长画山水花卉外,也精于写真和刻印。他的山水画取法弘仁石涛,所画的园林小景,大多是从写生中来。金农、汪士慎诗集上的小像,就是高翔的手笔,线描简练,神态逼真。著有《西唐诗钞》,“扬州八怪”之一。

他与汪士慎都喜画梅花,汪梅繁枝,高梅简枝,各有意趣。金农曾说过高翔笔下的梅花“其瘦处如鹭立寒汀,不欲为人作近玩也“。

人物画风

高翔山石常以“披麻皴”画出,苔点恰到好处,很少渲染,笔法简练,墨色淡雅,有空灵之感。树干常用双钩技法,树叶或圈或点,墨色清润。他是石涛的学生,但画并不与石涛相同,他的画个性很强,正是石涛“师造化,用我法”的体现。高翔山水、人物、花鸟、书法等方面无所不精,人们可以通过他的作品增加一些对扬州八怪的认识,收藏的境界有时并非体现在经济价值上,而在于收藏一段历史,保存一段文化。 目前来看,高翔的作品真迹很少在拍卖场上出现,拍卖价格每方尺在十万元左右,但仍然是价值高于价格。这主要与高翔作品不多,且仅有少数专家学者认识他所造成的。高翔是扬州八怪中的重要人物,扬州八怪[2]  又是一个承前启后,影响深远的重要的画派,他的画作非常值得收藏。
