王元

 王元幼年天性好画，常以指当笔，描鸡绘鹅，临花摹草，形神极似，使观者惊叹。稍大一些，因家贫不能上学，但其矢志不移地追求绘画艺术的真谛，四处拜师求教，全力潜心自学，二十出头知名乡里，索求画者相继而至。为使其书画更趋专业，他每年两度约八、九个月的时间游历于兰州、临洮、平凉、靖远等地，一方面谋生，另一方面开阔视野，体验生活。此举为作画增添了不少新意。与此同时，还与兰州大儒刘尔炘、书画界的同事高炳辰、张乐天、张树滋等共同探讨、切磋画技。由此画技日臻成熟，王元晚年摹唐介亭山水，神气逼真，作画水平渐入深境。

Wang Yuan was a good painter in his childhood. A little older, because of poor families can not go to school, but its unswerving pursuit of the true meaning of the art of painting, teachers around, devoted to self-study, 20 well-known villages, painting seekers came one after another. In order to make his painting and calligraphy more professional, he travels to Lanzhou, Lintao, Pingliang and Jingyuan twice a year for about eight or nine months. On the one hand, he makes a living, on the other hand, he broadens his horizons and experiences life. This adds a lot of novelty to the painting. At the same time, he also discussed and discussed painting skills with Lanzhou Confucian Liu Erwei, colleagues in the field of calligraphy and painting Gao Bingchen, Zhang Letian and Zhang Shuzi. As a result, the painting technique is becoming more and more mature. Wang Yuan imitated Tang Jieting's landscape in his later years, with a lifelike air, and his painting level gradually entered the deep realm.
