戴端，女，1958年12月生。现任中南大学教授、博士生导师。中国工业设计协会常务理事、中国机械工业设计学会常务理事、湖南省设计艺术家协会副主席、湖南省工业设计创新平台专家委员会委员、中国美术家会员省美协理事、中南大学工业设计集成创新研究中心负责人。
1975年参加工作，先后在工厂、机关、学校从事技术科研、人才培养及教学管理工作。1996年晋升副教授，2001年晋升教授，2007年聘任三级教授，2012年遴选为博士生导师。1989-1997年先后任湖南省工艺美术大学教研主任、教务副科长、校长助理兼教研科长；1997年长沙铁道学院主持筹建设计艺术系任系主任；2001-2011年，主持筹建中南大学艺术学院，先后任副院长（主持工作）、分管教学工作；2011至今中南大学建筑与艺术学院任教、中南大学工业设计研究中心负责人。
