吴国欣，毕业于中央工艺美术学院。同济大学建筑与城市规划学院/设计创意学院教授，博士生导师。教育部艺术类专业教学指导委员会委员，本科教学工作水平评估专家组成员，教育部国家精品课程、精品教材及国家级教学团队评委。上海美术家协会艺术设计委员会副主任，上海工业设计协会常务理事，上海100位最有影响的设计师之一，《大设计》杂志主编。上海世博会事务协调局原任展馆展示部副部长，现任上海世博会工程建设指挥部办公室副总工程师。
1979年，当时还就读于湖南省益阳工艺美术职工大学（湖南工艺美院前身）装潢设计专业的吴国欣与在校的几位老师与同学一起为新建成的益阳汽车新站绘制了两幅大型的壁挂作品，受到省内外名家的一致好评。1986年，留校工作的吴国欣和学生崔平平一起创作了一副后来送联合国参加展出的《为了和平》，并由国家美术馆收藏。
2010年6月27日，湖南工艺美术职业学院1980届装潢艺术专业毕业生，曾任该校副校长一职的同济大学设计创意学院吴国欣教授应邀，为在我院参加2010年全省高中美术培训班的老师和全校部分师生们作了两堂精彩讲座.
