赵力忠，1942年5月生于山西省晋城市。1965年毕业于山西艺术学院美术系，后工作于山西省群众艺术馆和山西省歌舞剧院。1978年考入中央美术学院美术史系。1982年分配到中国画研究院《中国画研究》编辑部，历任编辑、副编审、编审，2004年退休。编辑工作之余，测重关注当代中国画发展史迹，主要成文有《1900—2000百年中国画纪略》、《1992—1998中国画纪事》（与王鲁湘合作）；兼及当代画院史料的记录、搜集、整理与研究等。文余亦偶涉书画自娱。曾任中国美术家协会少儿艺术委员会副秘书长。中国国家画院艺术委员会委员，中国美术家协会会员，李可染艺术基金会艺委会秘书长等。
