陈飞林,1955年生于济南市平阴县。1977年毕业于现山东工艺美术学院并留校任教。1984年入中央工艺美术学院特艺系师从张仃、袁运甫、杜大凯先生。1986年考入中央工艺美术学院高等院校助教班，读完硕士研究生全部课程，受艺于杜大恺先生，攻读装饰绘画与壁画。后到山东工艺美术学院任教至今。现为中国美术家协会会员，山东工艺美术学院教授、美术系主任。
从事美术教育27年来，承担了多门课程的教学工作，对教学内容和方法根据专业特点，研究综合其它专业门类，注意培养学生的创造意识和创新能力，把教学工作作为培养学生适应社会，转变成社会化人才的过程。多年来所指导的毕业设计，分别对草纤维工艺、木雕工艺、玻璃镶嵌工艺等进行了工艺与样式的创新，均产生了社会效益与经济效益，为提高教学质量和我院的社会知名度做出了贡献。1995年，筹建并任山东工艺美术学院计算机艺术设计中心主任，首次将计算机应用导入到我院艺术设计的教学中。1994年，被山东省教育委员会评为“山东省高等学校青年学术骨干学科带头人”。1998年，所著《计算机设计艺术应用教程》被山东省教委评为“面向21世纪教学内容和课程体系的改革计划”立项项目现已出版发行。
1997年，任院教务处副处长后并主持工作，在教学管理工作中，树立奉献、负责、服务的思想观念，在教学效率、教学管理、促进教风、学风建设诸方面的工作中，在提高规范化、科学化、现代化管理水平等方面做了大量工作。2002年，获山东省教育厅授予的“山东省教育管理先进工作者”称号。并作为山东省教育考察团成员赴欧洲考察访问。
艺术创作方面的主要作品有国家和政府委托的大型壁画，包括北京钓鱼台宾馆、北京电视台、上海浦东山东大厦的壁画，山东省人民政府赠友好城市日本和歌山县大型木雕屏风《孔子六艺》，山东省人民政府赠澳门回归礼品大型铸铜双耳瓶等。除此之外，从事中国画及其它装饰艺术创作涉及壁画、陶艺、石雕、木雕等。作品多次参加国内外展览。1988年，《草纤维壁画系列》获中国轻工业部铜奖。1988年，彩墨画《晚霞》获山东省美协“优秀作品奖”。1990年，画册《梨园仙曲》获国家新闻出版署“冰心图书奖”。1991年重彩画《隋唐民谣》获联合国科教文组织“诺玛杯”。1992年，画册《少数民族的节日》获国家新闻出版署铜奖。1999年，壁画《孙子圣绩图》获山东省美协“特等奖”。连环画作品《梨园仙曲》获山东省美协一等奖。国画作品《圣洁》获山东省美协三等奖。1999年，壁画作品《孙子圣绩图》获第九届全国美展“银奖”。连环画作品《梨园仙曲》入选第九届全国美展。
1994年，被山东省教育委员会评为“山东省高等学校青年学术骨干学科带头人”
2002年，获山东省教育厅授予的“山东省教育管理先进工作者”称号
