杜炜(1941.11—)广东南海人。教授，中国美术家协会会员，中国工艺美术学会会员。擅长中国画、连环画。毕业于广州美术学院中国画系。历任湖南益阳市资江瓷厂陶瓷美术设计，湖南省工艺美术职工大学讲师、工艺美术师。作品有《长青》、《张家界国家森林公园》等。《智捕大鲟鱼》获第二届全国连环画评奖二等奖。
杜炜先生早年毕业于广州美术学院，深得岭南画风之熏陶，尽管在以后长期的绘画生涯中他还吸取了其他流派的营养，并形成了自己独特的风格，但在创作中他仍然始终坚持着“雅俗共赏”的审美原则。杜炜先生画路很宽。早在1973年，他创作的连环画《智捕的鲟鱼》荣获“全国第二届连环画创作评奖”二等奖，并被翻译成日、英、法文版发行国外，原作也被中国美术馆收藏。全国第六届美展中，他创作的中国画《常青》也被评为优秀作品，并被中国美术馆收藏。著名美术家张仃先生看到杜炜先生十上张家界写生创作的25米焦墨画长卷时赞之为“焦墨画佳作”，并欣然为之题跋。
除了焦墨画以外，杜炜先生的代表技法是无骨画，在白纸上用白色作画，这近乎神话！杜炜先生用三十多年的艺术实践创造了堪称奇迹的艺术的手法：他创作的白色荷花系列、白色牡丹系列、以及白色飞禽系列等作品已享誉海内外。一位资深评论家观赏到创作的作品时，竟情不自禁地叹曰：真是轻盈如梦、活色生香！
