刘明波，生于山东莒南。1989年毕业于临沂艺术学校，1989-1995年任职于山东莒南文化馆，1997年毕业于中国美术学院，1997-2000年执教于临沂艺术学校，2002年结业于中央美术学院国画系研究生班（贾又福山水工作室），2002年至今受聘于山东师范大学美术学院（2005年就读于广西艺术学院，攻读硕士学位，师从黄格胜先生）。
出版有：《山水画写生与创作》、《山水画临摹、写生、创作》、《水墨品质·刘明波卷》、《山水画教与学》（主编）、《中国画名家书系·刘明波卷》。
作品散见于《东方美术》、《艺术界》、《江苏画刊》、《书画导报》等专业刊物，出版有《山水画写生创作》，河南美术出版社。

Liu Mingbo was born in Junan, Shandong Province. He graduated from Linyi art school in 1989, worked in Junan Culture Museum in Shandong Province from 1989 to 1995, graduated from China Academy of Fine Arts in 1997, taught in Linyi art school from 1997 to 2000, graduated from the graduate class of traditional Chinese Painting Department of Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2002 (Jia Youfu landscape Studio), and has been employed in the school of fine arts of Shandong Normal University since 2002 (studied in Guangxi Art Institute in 2005 Master's degree from Mr. Huang Gesheng).

He has published: landscape painting sketch and creation, landscape painting copy, sketch and creation, ink quality Liu Mingbo volume, landscape painting teaching and learning (chief editor), and Chinese painting famous calligrapher Liu Mingbo volume.

His works are scattered in Oriental Art, art circle, Jiangsu painting journal, calligraphy and painting guide and other professional publications. He has published landscape painting sketch creation, Henan Art Publishing House.

In 1998, China International Art Year - contemporary landscape painting, oil painting landscape exhibition.
