诸闻韵，字汶隐，别署天目山民，浙江孝丰鹤鹿溪(今安吉塘浦乡)人。幼承家学，能书善画。吴昌硕外甥，早年居上海，在吴昌硕家任家庭教师，与弟诸乐三均为吴嫡传弟子，擅长诗、书、画、印，堪称四绝，誉满海内外。能诗，工写花卉、翎毛，间作走兽、山水、人物、寿佛，尤长于墨竹，潇洒清逸，涉笔成趣。
诸闻韵毕业于上海美专，曾留校任教。历任上海、新华、昌明等艺术专门学校中国画系教授、系主任，后任国立中央大学艺教系和国立艺专(中国美术学院前身)中国画系教授。曾参加吴昌硕等组织的“题襟馆”诗书画活动；1932年，在潘天寿倡议下，与张书旗、朱屺瞻、张振铎五人组织“白社”，被公推为社长;又与黄宾虹发起成立“百川画会”。抗日战争开始，国立艺专内迁，抱病辗转于长沙、沅陵、贵阳道上，劳顿成疾，在兵荒马乱中逝世。著有《画竹法理》与《诸闻韵画集》。
