闵叔骞，著名美术教育家、画家。历任南京师范大学美术系教授、中国美术家协会会员、江苏省美术家协会顾问、江苏省花鸟画研究会特邀研究员、吕凤子学术研究会顾问、苏南文化教育学院、江苏师范学院讲师。
1919年9月，闵先生出生于江苏宜兴“闵氏艺术世家”。1938年考入国立艺专（现中国美术学院）西画系，1942年毕业后留校任助教。在校学习期间，受到首任校长林风眠倡导的“学术开放、兼收并蓄”、“创造东方新艺术”的艺术思想影响，并攻读法文，志于西方现代绘画。曾获当时校长吕凤子授予的“吕凤子奖学金”。1944年在重庆举办个人画展。1955年赴北京参加全国高等美术院校的首届素描教学座谈会。此后，以现实主义的艺术思想指导西画教学、教材编写和创作。创作了一批造型严谨，体现时代精神的作品，如素描《读》、《纺织女工沈潥英》，油画《徐悲鸿与泰戈尔》、《壮心不已》，以及静物画《南瓜与玉米》等。
八十年代，闵先生在教学之余潜心研究绘画理论，发表论文《略论新印象派的理论与技巧》、《观念、生活、绘画形式及其语言》等；发表译文《安格尔的素描》、《德加》等；出版译著《从德拉克罗瓦到新印象派》一书。改革开放以来，他倾心于现代中国画创作，融会中西，独辟蹊径，致力于主体意识与现代精神的创新表现，创作了一批写意和抽象的作品，这些作品洗炼、清新、灵动，并具有个性、民族性和现代感。
他的作品多次在国内外展出，有的作品选入《八十年画集》、《中国高等美术院校美术作品集》、《江苏花鸟画集》、《海峡两岸画家梅花集》、《江苏画刊》，香港《收藏天地》、《心愿》等，或被江苏省美术馆、台湾胜大庄美术馆、香港亚洲艺术基金会等收藏。
数十年来，闵叔骞先生在高等院校美术系任教，治学严谨，既为教育事业培养了一大批优秀的美术人才，又在绘画创作上独具风貌、卓有建树。??
