黄独峰(1913-1998)，名山，号榕园，又号五岭老人，广东揭阳人，著名中国画画家。曾任广西艺术学院副院长、教授。第五、六、七届全国政协委员，广西政协副主席；第二届全国侨联委员，第三届全国侨联常委，广西侨联主席；致公党中央委员会常委，致公党广西区委会主任委员；中国美术家协会会员、理事，广西美协副主席、主席；石涛艺术学会会长等职。著有《明清写梅画人传略》、《中国之花鸟画》、《独峰画集》1—7辑等多种。先生擅长中国画，兼善书法，画风综合南北二宗及古代诸流派，自成一格。
1929年从揭阳画师邝碧波学任伯年派花鸟。
1931年入春睡画院，从高剑父治艺。
1936年赴日本东京深造，卢沟桥事变后回国，在港、澳、沪、黔、桂、渝、蓉等地从事美术创作。
1939年在香港创办《现代艺术月刊》，与方人定、司徒奇等组织“再造社”。
1943年在韶关创办“颂风画苑”。
1946年在广州与马小进等组织“越社”，并与高剑父创办南中美术专科学校，任教授、国画系主任。
1948年创办《时代艺术月刊》，组织“丹荔社”。
1950年在香港入张大千门下。
1952年定居印度尼西亚。
1959年在棉兰创办“中国画院”，其画在东南亚享有盛誉。
1960年回国，在广西艺术学院任副教授、教授、美术系主任、副院长等职。

著有《明清写梅画人传略》、《中国之花鸟画》、《山水花鸟画技法》、《中国绘画与西洋画的倾向》、《岭南画派艺术之研究》、《黄独峰画语录》等。
