庞泰嵩，1938年生于广西玉林，1964年毕业于广州美术学院国画系，国家一级美术师，中国美术家协会会员，现为广州空军专职画家。作品有《机场之夜》、《夕照疆场》、《南疆晨曲》等。在四十多年的艺术探索中，庞泰嵩先生爱云惜云，观云画云，自幼与云山云海结下了不解之缘。
他在平地观水，在江河踏浪，进海峰悟涛，凌空体会穿云驾雾。他创作的无数个性鲜明的山水作品，犹如置身于生机勃勃、变幻莫测的神奇大自然。一幅幅云山雾海、大气凛然、气势磅礴婉若诗史般波澜壮阔。出神入化的作品，常常令人惊叹。
师从关山月、黎雄才的国画画家庞泰嵩号称“天下第一云”，以画“见笔云”知名。对“见笔云”，庞泰嵩的解释是：“顾名思义，画幅上的云是一笔一笔画成的。”与别人不同的是：“用笔，但不是直接用笔画，而是利用留白，或勾线，或洇染而成。”
庞泰嵩游历名山大川，对云“情有独钟”。在他看来，中国山水画中，云具有特殊的魅力：飘飘絮絮，若隐若现，或如瀚海，或如仙境。一座山有了云，整座山就飘然欲仙，神若瑶台；一幅画有了云，整幅画就灵气盎然，充满生机。他看云，爱云，更悟云：“云的走势是有规律的，不能乱画。云依山而行，随风而动，据气而汹涌。不同的季节，云有不同的变化。春云气润，夏云诡秘，秋云飘渺，冬云凝重。”　
庞泰嵩先生恋山爱水，钟情自然，倾其全身精力，多年来沉溺于思考观察与悉心凝神创作中。他下连当兵，边防放哨，高原采风，画室凝彩，沉淀而艰辛的艺术创作，为庞泰嵩的成功之路增添了无限活力。庞泰嵩几十年来，一直十分热爱大自然，钟情于祖国的山山水水。他的画笔描绘了无尽的江河湖海，绿色生态，笔墨里歌颂了道德与文明，歌颂了祖国的壮丽山河。多年来，庞泰嵩为军队，为国家，为各地博物馆，为外国政要，港澳台知名人士赠送了大量精品之作，倾注大半生的心血，换来了真诚中恳的高度赞赏。在北京中国美术馆圆厅的开幕式上，三幅各十五米长、五米高的大型云水国画令所有的参观者叹为观止，很多观众评价为今日中国之云海艺术杰作。

作品多次参加全国、全军美展，并被邀请参加在德国、日本、瑞典、比利时、加拿大和澳门等地展出。从80年代末以来，先后在台北、新加坡、香港、广州、北京、深圳、玉林、东莞等地举办了个人画展，获得广泛的好评。进入90年代，他的作品进入了一个黄金时期，《激流》在日本参加中日美术交流展览评比时获得金奖；《云海出岫》在台湾参加中国著名书画家作品展时获一等奖。他的不少作品为毛主席纪念堂、中南海紫光阁、中央军委大楼、中国文联大厦及一些知名美术馆、知名人士等多方面所收藏。出版《庞泰嵩画集》、选集等多本画集。
