刘文泉，男，1935年生，山东招远人，擅长中国山水画，篆刻。自1960年起，曾任《海鸥》文学月刊美术编辑，艺术部主任，青岛画院院长，青岛市美术家协会主席，青岛市文联副主席，青岛市第十一届人民代表，青岛市第七届政协委员，山东省第七届政协委员，山东省第五届文联委员。现为中国美术家协会会员，中国书法家协会会员，山东省政协书画联谊会特聘画师，山东画院高级画师并山水画研究会副会长，人民日报神州书画院特聘画师，招远市书画联谊会艺术顾问，青岛画院名誉院长，青岛市美协名誉主席，青岛印社副社长，国家一级美术师。多年来，刘文泉创作了大量深受人们喜爱的精品佳作，其画品、人品备受推崇。作品多次入选全国美展，出版有《刘文泉画集》、《刘文泉印痕》等。
作品多次入选全国、华东、山东等地各级美展。
1959年全国第二届美展，作品《奋勇前进》获优秀奖。

2000年被现代著名美术史论家陈履生主编的---1949--1966《新中国美术图史》收入集中。

自1990年以来，曾多次出访新加坡，日本及马来西亚，美国及香港等国家和地区进行艺术交流和举办展览。
数十年来，许多作品广泛被各新闻媒体选用和出版发行。
出版有《刘文泉画集》，《刘文泉印痕》。
1980年由著名美术史论家俞剑华先生编撰的中国解放后第一本《中国美术家人名大辞典》。
1989年由中国美术家协会编撰出版的《中国现代美术家人名大辞典》，同年再由中国美术家协会出版的《中国美术年鉴》。
1989年中国书法家协会出版的《现代书法界人名辞典》。
1991年由西泠印社出版的《中国印学年鉴》。
