生于安徽和县白渡桥，字溪之，一字弘潜，别号虚弘、弘庐、烟云中人、任我行、许和州、Hare等，著有《戴本孝评传》、《寻找审美的眼睛》（评论集），编辑《太湖诗词书法集》，及美术史论文、评论五十余篇，并多次参加全国美术学会研讨会。曾任河北教育出版社北京颂雅风文化艺术中心艺术总监，自1993年起居黄山，策划编著“黄山艺术丛书”（《现代名家画黄山》、《现代名家书黄山楹联集》已由安徽美术出版社出版）。出版的著作有《中国名画家丛书》《戴本孝卷》、《弘仁卷》及《程容邃》，现为《边缘·艺术》主编、《东方艺术》特约编委、《水墨》栏目主持、《书与画》、《艺术状态》专栏撰稿人。著有《戴本孝》传)、《寻找审美的眼睛》(文集)、《留云集》(随笔、画集)、《这片画坛》(评论集)、《乡事十记》(小说)、《淇园清影》(画集)等，现为自由撰稿人、职业画家。现居北京。
