葛路原名葛光植，男，1926年7月生，陕西省定边县人。中国美协授予“卓有成就的美术史论家”奖，现为北大教授、中国书法家协会会员、中国书协中直分会学术委员、中国美术家协会会员、北京大学书画协会理事、中华全国美学会会员、国际美术家联合会中韩文化艺术专家委员会委员。1926年生于陕西定边。1948年，毕业于北平华北文法学院国文系。1953-1961年，担任《美术》杂志编辑。1961-1979年，执教于吉林艺术学院美术系。1979年后，执教于北京大学哲学系，教授。
