祁峰，1949年出生于甘肃酒泉，后来定居北京，斋号紫驼轩(原名金驼阁)。8岁学画。近年来，先后在新加坡、深圳、珠海、郑州、西安、敦煌、北京、济南等16个城市举办个展及联展，先后获得国际、国内金奖和特别奖20多个。作品以"骆驼"、"驴"、"马"和"草书"为主。现任中国书画家协会副主席、中国名家书画研究院常务副院长、中国国际书画院副院长、中国民族文化研究院副院长、中国书画艺术研究院副院长、香港《大公报》书画院名誉副院长、延安鲁艺书画院顾问、紫光阁画院院士等职务，国家一级美术师。被国际美术家联合会授予"国际银奖艺术家"称号，获得"世界杰出华人艺术家"称号、"中国百杰书画家"称号、"中国百年风云人物"金奖，作品被人民大会堂、军事博物馆、毛主席纪念堂、邓小平纪念馆、国务院侨办、外交部、中国驻外使馆、国防大学帅园、新加坡国家博物院、新加坡中华总商会等单位收藏，作品深得中国、英国、日本、德国、法国等40多个国家的人士忠爱。中国著名美术评论家包立民称："祁峰笔下的风雪和水墨骆驼，其绘画风格和底蕴，非其他画家而能为。在中国动物画史上，是一面最鲜明的旗帜。"；国画大师张仃盛赞："祁峰画驴师承黄胄，而能深入生活，故出于蓝而胜于蓝也。"；徐悲鸿得意弟子（著名老画家）韦江凡称："近年来，我看画驴画得最好的，除黄胄外就算祁峰同志了。"；新加坡著名画家赖桂芳赞称：祁峰是"中国第二个黄胄。"；徐悲鸿夫人廖静文称："祁峰画马学习悲鸿且创新，形成了自己的独特风格，所画之马精气神十足，似大漠雄风，气势恢宏，催人奋进"。1996年，作品--"骆驼"被香港《大公报》命名为"天下第一驼"。之后，《光明日报》、中央电视台、北京电视台、阳光卫视台、中国国际传媒网络电视台等上百家视听媒体，不断以"天下第一驼、中国第二个黄胄"、"半百年华丹青路?祁连之子誉五洲"等为题，进行特别报道。2006年被香港《大公报》特邀为"世纪丹青"书画版艺术顾问。
