 现为文化部中国艺术研究院中国画院研究员，厦门大学艺术学院、陕西师范大学美术学院、景德镇陶瓷学院设计学院客座教授。

大土三阳20世纪80年代毕业于南京艺术学院并获得艺术专业学士、硕士学位。长期致力于中国山水画的传承与创作研究，足迹遍及祖国名山大川。积学经年，画风旷达超逸，笔墨浑厚苍古，境界高远深邃，诗文学养深厚，是当代诗书画均达颇高造诣的山水画家。

2005年总结概括提出中国画笔墨"五韵"学术主张，2011年提出中国山水画必须重视苦练基本功，通过精确笔墨描述物象而求中国山水画神元之境的表现，即重在精神境界、格调气息的表达。作品既有深厚的传统功力，又有独特的个人面貌，为国内外众多政府机构及个人收藏。

著有《五代宋元中国山水画论》、《中国画之笔墨五韵》、《砚边随录》等著作，出版个人画集多部。

2007年在北京画院美术馆、2011年在中国艺术研究院美术馆、西安亮宝楼美术馆成功举办三次大型个人展览及理论研讨会，作品参加多次国内外联展。

Datu Sanyang graduated from Nanjing Academy of Art in the 1980s with a bachelor's and master's degree in art. Long-term commitment to the inheritance and creation of Chinese landscape painting research, footprints throughout the country's famous mountains and rivers. Over the years, the style of painting is broad and elegant, the brush and ink are thick and ancient, the realm is high and profound, and the poetry and literature are well-nourished. He is a landscape painter with high attainments in contemporary poetry, calligraphy and painting.

In 2005, it summarized and put forward the academic proposition of "five rhymes" of Chinese painting brush and ink. In 2011, it was proposed that Chinese landscape painting must attach importance to the basic skills of hard training, and seek the expression of the divine realm of Chinese landscape painting by accurately describing the image with brush and ink, that is, the expression of spiritual realm and style and breath. The works not only have profound traditional skills, but also have a unique personal outlook. They are collected by many government agencies and individuals at home and abroad.

He is the author of "On Chinese Landscape Painting in the Five Dynasties, Song and Yuan Dynasties", "Five Rhymes of Brush and Inkstone Painting", "Inkstone Bian Sui Lu" and other works. He has published many personal collections of paintings.

In 2007, three large-scale individual exhibitions and theoretical seminars were successfully held in Beijing Academy of Art Museum, China Academy of Art Museum and Xi'an Liangbao Building Art Museum in 2011. The works participated in several joint exhibitions at home and abroad.
