1989年在南京师范大学首次举办个人画展《张友宪聊斋人物画展》。1992年在上海美术馆举办第二次个人画展，1993年在江苏省美术馆举办《张友宪画展》，1995年组织并参予南京艺术学院中国画教师作品系列展。1996年应邀赴厦门大学艺术学院授课并举办个人画展。1997年应邀参加江苏美术家赴德国画展。1998年应邀赴中央美术学院授课并举办中国画讲座。2000年在江苏省美术馆举办《张友宪罗汉系列画展》。 出版有《画家之路·国画山水》、《友宪素描》、《美术家之路·国画人物》、《张友宪芭蕉系列选辑》、《张友宪水墨画》、《张友宪中国画作品选集》、《张友宪人物画精选》、《张友宪扇面画精选》、《黄瓜园画谱》人物、山水、花鸟三册。《中国画教学大图典·写意花鸟卷》等。现任南京艺术学院美术学院院长，教授中国画人物兼及山水花鸟，画界评其是当今中国画坛最具潜质的实力派画家。刘海粟大师称赞其作品用笔良好；程十发先生为其《聚蕉图》题诗曰：友宪画蕉，六法精粹，使我拜倒。德国巴斯夫公司以重金购其《松树》系列悬挂总部，美国著名艺术理论家詹姆斯·埃金斯教授曾专访二乾书屋谈艺，评价其作品为中国画发展之正途。

 Zhang Youxian, Dean of the Academy of Fine Arts, Nanjing Academy of Art, and Art Director of the Fine Arts and Calligraphy Working Committee of Jiangsu Province Chinese Culture Promotion Association. Born in 1954. The owner of the Erqian Bookstore. Nanjing native, graduated from Nanjing Academy of Art in 1982, majoring in Chinese painting, and stayed at the school to teach. He studied at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1984 and taught at Nanjing Academy of Fine Arts in 1985. He is now the director of the Chinese Artists Association, the president and professor of the Academy of Fine Arts of Nanjing Academy of Fine Arts, and a famous Chinese painter.

In 1989, Zhang Youxian Liaozhai Figure Painting Exhibition was held for the first time in Nanjing Normal University. In 1992, the second individual painting exhibition was held in Shanghai Art Museum, and Zhang Youxian Painting Exhibition was held in Jiangsu Art Museum in 1993. In 1995, the exhibition organized and participated in the series exhibition of Chinese Painting Teachers'Works of Nanjing Academy of Art. In 1996, he was invited to teach at the Art College of Xiamen University and hold a personal painting exhibition. In 1997, he was invited to participate in the German Painting Exhibition by Jiangsu Artists. In 1998, he was invited to teach at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and hold lectures on Chinese painting. In 2000, Zhang Youxian Luohan Series Painting Exhibition was held in Jiangsu Museum of Art. Published by the "Painter's Road, Chinese Landscape Painting", "Youxian Sketch", "Artist's Road, Chinese Painting Characters", "Zhang Youxian Banana Series Selection", "Zhang Youxian Ink Painting", "Zhang Youxian Selection of Chinese Painting Works", "Zhang Youxian Personal Painting Selection", "Zhang Youxian Fan Painting Selection" and "Cucumber Garden Painting Spectrum" characters. Three volumes: Landscape, Flowers and Birds. "Chinese painting teaching atlas, freehand flower and bird scroll" and so on. He is currently the dean of the Academy of Fine Arts of Nanjing Academy of Art. He is a professor of Chinese painting characters and landscape flowers and birds. The painting circle has commented that he is the most potentially powerful painter in today's Chinese painting circle. Master Liu Haisu praised his work as a good pen; Mr. Cheng Shifa inscribed his poem "Banana Tu" and said, "You Xian painted bananas, the essence of the six methods, make me worship. The German Basf Company hangs its headquarters in the Pine Tree Series for a heavy purchase. Professor James Eggins, a famous American art theorist, once interviewed Erqian Bookstore to discuss art and evaluate his works as the right way for the development of Chinese painting.
