孟传柱，字鲁直，笔名孟石，1939年生于山东泰安。1960年考入山东艺术专科学校（今山东艺术学院）国画专业，毕业后一直从事美术教育工作和美术创作。1975年参与泰安师专（今泰山学院）美术系创建工作，并任第一任美术系主任，教授。从事国画创作50多年，作品多次参加国内外各种书画展并获奖，被多家博物馆、纪念馆和国内外人士收藏，其艺术简历和作品被收录《中国美术家人名大辞典》、《当代书画家篆刻家辞典》、《世界华人美术家大辞典》、《中国泰山画集》、《齐鲁览胜美术作品选》、《儒家文化书画展作品集》等多部辞书及画集。中国美术教育研究会会员、山东省美术家协会会员、山东画院高级画师、泰山画院高级画师、泰山诗书画研究会副会长、泰安市美协名誉主席、泰安市老年书画研究会副会长、华夏泰山画社社长。擅长花鸟画，尤其擅长墨竹。
