林松年老师，1927年生于广东南海，原名沛，金沛，生平崇仰松树风格，故取名松年，其作画堂号爱松馆，为纪念母寿期頣，亦称为百岁堂。
自幼爱好中国画，年十八，师从岭南名家李寿庵黄鼎苹深造。
对宋元明清各大家山水花鸟人物虫鱼及走兽等遍下苦功，尤爱大痴四王两石赵昌青藤南田等。
重写生，更擅画荔枝。青年时，曾在穗港梧举行个人画展和联合美展。
1949年后，常参加全国美展及广西画展入选，获一等奖和优秀奖。1973年南国荔枝红为中国美术馆收藏，其中南国荔枝红七喜图颗颗丹心向阳红果熟来禽图晓风残月荔熟蝉声远光明不易图等等出国到日本加拿大伊朗菲律宾及美国台湾香港澳门和国内展出，
丹荔瑞猿图为人民大会堂收藏。
1994年又为北京天安门城楼绘制远瞻山河壮。
2001年南国荔树红再选入百年中国画展和中国现代花鸟画集，七喜图收入中国美术家名人大词典，纽约美中画报社为其出版荔枝作品集和林松年画集，
广西出版社出版林松年林淳棣书画集。
现为中国美术家协会会员，梧州书画院艺术委员会主任，高级美术师，中国书画函大梧州分校教授。
57年后历任市政协委员，80年市人大代表，美协广西分会理事，市国画研究会及市美协副主席，文联委员，其名声载入中国美术年鉴，中国书画家名人大辞典，国际文化中国美术家，
广西文化誌等。
