边军(1938.11—1997.4)青海西宁人。擅长中国画。自幼酷爱绘画，先毕业于青海师范学院数学系，1962年毕业于北京艺术学院美术系国画专业，长期从事美术编辑工作。擅人物，兼及山水、花鸟，多取青海高原风情入画，所作朴拙凝重，气势雄浑，富有高原特色和时代气息。曾在青海省文教厅从事群众文化工作。致力于美术理论研究，多篇论文刊载于《美术》杂志等。亦擅版画，兼作书法。主要作品有《草原春信》、《草原晨曲》、《风雪昆仑春长在》、《心曲》、《牧读》、《踏歌图》、《高山牧场》等。现为中国美术家协会会员，中国版画家协会会员，青海省美术家协会副主席，青海书法家协会理事，青海书画篆刻研究会副会长，青海中国画研究会会长，青海日报社主任编辑，享受国务院特殊津贴的专家.
