王威

 中国美术家协会原理事 河南省美术家协会名誉主席

王威，(1930.12—)字肖佛，河南杞县人。研究版画、中国画。中学时代学工笔人物山水。1958年毕业于中国美术学院版画系（原浙江美院）。历任《河南大众报》、《河南画报》、《奔流》杂志美术编辑，1959年从事美术教育工作，在郑州艺术学院美术系、河南大学美术系曾任系主任、教授、研究生导师。曾出席全国第四、第五次文代会及全国第三、第四、第五次美术家代表大会，当选四届理事。河南省美术家协会一届副主席、二届主席。现为中国版画家协会理事、河南省文联荣誉委员、河南省美术家协会名誉主席、河南省书画院顾问、河南省文史研究馆馆员、郑州大学特聘教授。1950年开始发表作品，作品经常参加全国性大展，有些作品还曾在日本、英国、西班牙等国及中国港台等地展出或发行，其中有14件作品被中国美术馆收藏。1962年、1978年、1996年三次举办个人画展，作品风格稳健严谨、朴实自然。1996年6月获中国“鲁迅版画奖”。出版有《王威素描集》。主要作品有《二七风暴》、《春暖出耕早》、《听涛》、《胸中自有雄兵百万》等。

从一九五○年发表作品六十年以来，王威培养出不少美术界精英，如马国强、李伯安、王宏剑、王颖生、肖红、谢冰毅、李明、袁汝波、韩学中等画家，创作发表了大量思想深刻、艺术精湛的版画、山水画作，多次参加国内外大型画展，三次举办个人画展，十三件作品被中国美术馆收藏。王威擅长版画国画，希望能将中国画推广学习。

创作于上世纪五十年代的《老赵的驴也牵来了》、《春耕》；六十年代的《棉花姑娘》、《春暖出耕早》；八十年代的《春到中原》、《山里红》等一批作品，均具浓郁的生活气息与时代特征；《听涛》、《胸中自有雄兵百万》、《毛主席在延安》等，技法精细熟稔，构图奇正相生，气魄宏大，意蕴深远。

退休后，王威将主要精力转移到山水创作。他谦虚地说，画一张画并不难，要想画一张有点艺术品味的，或有点艺术感染力的作品，那真是太难了。

王威抓住「传统」、「写生」两个法宝，承继宋北派画风，作品极善留白用虚，几乎走遍广袤华夏的山山水水，每一幅作品几乎都源自实地写生，满溢生命质感。

 Wang Wei, (1930.12-) alias Xiao Fo, from Qixian County, Henan Province. He is good at printmaking and Chinese painting. In the middle school period, the figure of learning and writing is landscape. He has been the art editor of Henan Popular Daily, Henan Pictorial and Running Magazine. He was engaged in art education in 1959. He was the chairman, professor and graduate tutor of the Department of Fine Arts of Zhengzhou Art College and Henan University. Since 1950, works have been published and often participated in national exhibitions. Some of them have been exhibited or distributed in Japan, Britain, Spain, Hong Kong and Taiwan of China. Among them, 14 works have been collected by the Chinese Art Museum. In 1962, 1978 and 1996, three solo exhibitions were held. The style of the works is steady, precise and natural. In June 1996, he won the Luxun Printing Prize in China.

He was the chairman, professor and graduate tutor of the Department of Fine Arts of Zhengzhou Art College and Henan University. He attended the Fourth and Fifth National Literary Congresses and the Third, Fourth and Fifth National Congresses of Artists, and was elected to the Fourth Board of Directors. First Vice-Chairman and Second Chairman of Henan Artists Association. He is currently the director of the Chinese Print Artists Association, the honorary member of the Henan Literature Federation, the honorary chairman of the Henan Artists Association, the consultant of the Henan Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, the librarian of the Henan Literature and History Research Museum, and the specially appointed professor of Zhengzhou University. Since 1950, works have been published and often participated in national exhibitions. Some of them have been exhibited or distributed in Japan, Britain, Spain, Hong Kong and Taiwan of China. The main works include "27 Storms", "Warm Spring and Early Farming", "Listening to Tao", "A Million of Soldiers in the Chest" and so on.

Mr. Wang Wei, an 80-year-old painter, is in high spirits in his propaganda photos from the 60th Anniversary Painting Exhibition.

Since the publication of his works in 1950, Wang Wei has trained many elites in the art circle, such as Ma Guoqiang, Li Bo'an, Wang Hongjian, Wang Yingsheng, Xiao Hong, Xie Bingyi, Li Ming, Yuan Rubo and Han Xue. He has created and published a large number of profound and artistic prints and landscape paintings, and has participated in many paintings at home and abroad. Large-scale paintings exhibition, held three personal exhibitions, thirteen works were collected by the Chinese Art Museum. Wang Wei is good at Chinese printmaking and hopes to promote and learn Chinese painting.

The Donkeys of Lao Zhao and Spring Farming, which were created in the 1950s, Cotton Girl in the 1960s and Early Farming in the Spring Warm, Spring to the Central Plains in the 1980s and Red Mountain in the Mountains, all have strong flavor of life and characteristics of the times; Listening to the Tao and Millions of Soldiers in the Chest. 》 "Chairman Mao in Yan'an" and so on, with sophisticated techniques, exquisite composition, great courage and far-reaching implications.

After retirement, Wang Wei shifted his main energy to landscape creation. He said modestly that drawing a picture is not difficult. It's very difficult to draw a work with artistic taste or artistic appeal.

Wang Wei grasps the two magic weapons of "tradition" and "sketching" and inherits the painting style of Northern Song School. His works are very good at leaving blank and using empty space. He has almost traveled across the vast mountains and rivers of China. Almost every work originates from realistic sketching and is full of life texture.
