生于海南海口，曾任海南保亭县文化馆美术干部、海南美协副主席。《海南日报》美术编辑、摄影美术部副主任。现为海南省美术家协会主席，海南省文联副主席，中国美术家协会理事，人民日报社神州画院特邀画师，海南省书画院顾问，海南日报社主任编辑。　
早期从事版画创作，其中《新雏声声》、《碧海绿岛》、《新月》、《海上生明月》均入选全国版画作品展；作品版画《黎族女教师》入选全国少数民族美展，《南海明珠》入选全国科普美展，《可可香》等入选全国职工美展，《新雏声声》入选十届全国版画作品展。近年致力于中国画创作，中国画《雨林兰香》获全国新闻书画展优秀奖，中国画《清幽》入选全国第八届群星奖优秀作品奖。中国画《海滩晨韵》入选西部辉煌全国中国画作品展，中国画《黎山秀色》入选迎奥运中国画大展，中国画《滨海新城》入选全国画院双年展首届中国画展。作品《黎家秋熟图》入选2004年首届中国美术家协会会员中国画精品展。1994年在香港、澳门地区举办画展，2001年在美国加利尼福亚橙县参加《中华人民共和国当代水墨画展》、2002年应荷兰国哈德怀克市艺术中心邀请举办中国画作品展。2003年，中国画《南海神韵》、《幽山鸣泉》被我国外交部驻外使领馆馆存及收藏，中国画《五指山秋韵》入选华夏笔都全国首位知名国画家特邀作品展。出版有《邓子芳版画小辑》。
