王鹏瑞，1958年出生于内蒙古乌兰察布市，现为内蒙古大学艺术学院教授，硕士研究生导师，美术史论与美术批评方向学科带头人。长期从事美术创作，作品曾入选全国美展，并在内蒙古自治区获奖。从1995年始从事美术史论与美术批评的教学与研究，有大量论文、评论发表。曾获内蒙古自治区第二届哲学社会科学成果政府奖，内蒙古第二届草原文化与文学艺术论坛论文奖等。兼做城市雕塑和壁画创作，作品散见于内蒙古一些地区。业余从事文学和摄影创作，有小说、散文、报告文学发表于《美文》《草原》《内蒙古日报》等报刊，作品被收入《中国新时期20年微型小品精选——散文卷》《内蒙古60年散文选》等多种选集。荣获内蒙古自治区第八届文学创作“索龙嘎”奖，2007年度“草原”文学奖等。内蒙古文艺评论家协会全委会委员，内蒙古作家协会会员，内蒙古摄影家协会会员。
