1955年生于武汉。1978年毕业于湖北美术学院雕塑专业，并留校工作。1979年—1981年随蔡里安、潘鹤老师进修一年半。现为雕塑系副教授，一直从事雕塑专业教学。
1984年作品《漾》获第六届全国美展优秀奖；木雕《夏日》参加湖北省第六届美展。
1990年陶艺作品《一切从零开始》参加全国第二届体育美展。1993年赴美国阿尔夫雷德陶瓷学院进行交流。
1994年陶艺作品《蕾》参加香港湖北现代雕塑展。
1995年石雕《吻》参加世界第四届妇女大会——中国女美术家作品展。并作为代表参加’95世界妇女大会“中国传统工艺技术女能手操作表演活动”。同时参加现代陶艺国际研讨会与各国女艺术家交流。
1997年陶艺作品《雅致》参加文化部组织的中国现代陶艺欧洲巡回展，作品被文化部收藏。同年，陶艺作品《疲惫的刷子》参加中外陶艺家作品邀请展和宜兴国际陶艺研讨会。
1998年《冰冻的萨克斯》等陶艺作品参加中国美术学院第一届中国当代陶艺家作品展。同年《疯狂的钢琴》等作品参加广东美术馆当代青年陶艺家邀请展，《深陷的音》被该馆收藏。
2000年《受伤的萨克斯》等作品参加中国美术学院中国当代陶艺家双年展。《流淌的刷子》等作品参加广东美术馆中国现代陶艺家邀请展，作品获二等奖并被该馆收藏。作品《流畅的刷子》参加2000年国际陶艺家作品邀请展。并由中国石湾美陶馆永久收藏。作品《巨大的刷子》由佛山市南风古灶博物馆收藏，并参与2000年佛山国际柴烧研讨会作品制作交流与研讨。
