李桦，女，1959年生于山西太原，祖籍河北唐山。现为太原市城市雕塑研究院创作室主任，中国美术家协会会员，中国工艺美术家学会会员，中国雕塑家学会会员，山西省美术家协会会员，山西省雕塑家协会理事，太原市美术家协会理事。李桦受家庭影响，自小酷爱艺术，儿时喜欢涂鸦、玩泥。父亲因势利导，常带她去雕塑家龙启印老师家学艺。中学时进校美术组学习雕塑，多次参加省、市青少年美术作品展，有的作品曾刊登于《山西日报》。1997年于太原市晋祠文物保管所（现晋祠博物馆）参加工作，从事古代雕塑临摹（临摹晋祠圣母殿内宋塑仕女像）工作。期间，有幸得到雕塑家沈海驹老师指导，临摹制作的晋祠圣母殿宋塑仕女（原大）于1983年被中国历史博物馆收藏。1982年在沈海驹老师的带领下，参加太原市天龙山石窟（第九窟）的修复工作。1984年为晋祠三清洞制彩塑“灵宝天尊”一组。这些艺术实践为她后来的创作打下了坚实的基础。1985年调入太原市城市雕塑研究院至今，曾多次参加全国及省、市美术作品展览，并多次获奖。1991年在中央美术学院进修1年，曾得到钱绍武、曹春生、司徒兆光、董祖怡、盛扬、陈桂轮及隋建国、王中等老师的指导，获益颇深。从古代雕塑临摹到现代人体课的学习，古代雕塑的神韵与现代雕塑的飘逸，古代文化与现代文化的有机结合，使她更新了理念。李桦出生在山西这块古老的黄土地上，吸收着地域文化的养分，尤其是山西的民间美术。她将传统表现手法应用到现代雕塑中来，形成了自己独特的创作风格。1997年创作的《小跤手》，以圆雕与浮雕刻线相结合的手法塑造人物，形成了一种力的扭动，作品入选“第四届中国体育美术作品展”。2001年创作的《蹴鞠》，借鉴古代仕女雕塑的手法，采用现代艺术语言，表现了唐宋时期妇女雍容华贵的形象，作品入选“第五届中国体育美术作品展”。2004年创作的《犟》，以山西大院门石雕的创作手法，表现了小孩骑在牛背上，想把牛搬倒的憨态可掬的形象，作品入选“第三届中国石雕石刻大赛”。该作品在福建惠安现场制作，完成后被惠安中国石雕石刻博物馆永久收藏。雕塑作品《风和日暖》、《小跤手》、《对酒当歌》等曾刊于《雕塑》杂志2004年第1期上。近年来，李桦创作了一批城雕作品，如太原迎泽大桥东西两侧的《潮》、《劲风》，太原千峰路口大型不锈钢雕塑《鱼水情》等，都产生了较好的影响。
