王鲁恒，别名天隐，1948年出生于河北承德。1965年就读于中央美术学院附中。1969年毕业于中央美术学院附中。1973年任职于北京故宫博物院，从事艺术创作十六年。
著有《鲁恒诗词选》、《鲁恒诗聊》、《鲁恒诗配画》。
其他作品有青田石雕《蛇》、《蜣螂》，叶腊石雕《水螺》等。
擅长以天然石色巧雕两栖爬虫类和甲壳类动物，并题诗文于石上。
鲁桓的石雕大多利用天然石料中的各种杂色，巧妙刻成各种动物。这种技艺历史很久，工艺行当中称为“巧色”。鲁桓的艺术，首先是题材不同。他以蛇类、蛙类为主，利用天然石料做到形、神、质感兼备，静中寓动，似能随呼而动，随手而起。艺术的魅力就在于它的不可思议性。石质与两栖爬行类及甲壳类动物质与色酷似，鲁桓能从巧色上想到石色，并题广义地说文于其上，将石头、动物及自身融力一体，形成了独特的艺术风格。
石雕有随行与写真两种风格。王鲁恒首次以天然石色专雕两栖爬虫类和甲壳类动物，在雕刻史上，形成了自己特有的艺术风格，并提诗文于石上，被人称之为文人雕。他的作品曾在美国洛杉矶、旧金山、丹佛等著名博物馆不断巡回展出，反响极大，从而改变了西方人对中国石雕艺术家一贯不精于表现小动物的旧观念。
