胡勃，男，字冲汉，笔名野风、塞外客。1943年12月生于内蒙古扎赉特旗，祖籍山东莱州。中央美术学院国画系教授。
1963年毕业于内蒙古师范大学并留校任教。1978年考入中央美术学院国画系研究生班，1980年毕业留校任教。曾任民间美术系副主任，历任国画系工笔人物画室主任、教授、硕士研究生导师、中国美术家协会会员、中国当代工笔画会副会长、北京工笔重彩画会副会长。

自幼酷爱绘画，曾先后从师邱石冥、叶浅予、刘凌沧等先生，得名师传授，多年悉心钻研、博采古今、融汇中外，具有深厚的传统绘画基础和坚实的造型能力。长期深入生活，表现生活的真、善、美，强调现代审美意识及个性创新，注重心灵和主观表现。擅长工笔重彩，尤以工笔人物画见精，近年来在工笔花鸟、写意人物、写意花鸟等方面亦取得可喜的成果，更以鞍马人物画蜚声中外。作品追求深沉淳朴的真情，散发着浓郁的生活气息。画风写实、造型严谨、笔墨精巧、意境深邃、格调清新，既有传统的艺术恝根又有崭新的时代风采。作品以其特有的深厚功底，典雅意蕴，盎然情趣而赢得专家与同行们的赞赏，是国内颇有影响的工笔画家。

其作品多次参加国内外展览并多次获奖，一些作品被中国美术馆、博物馆、陈列馆及国内外画廊收藏。许多作品在国内外画册、报刊、杂志上发表。胡勃的艺术成就被编入《中国当代书画家词典》、《中国美术年鉴》、《当代天下名人传略》、《1989年中国人物年鉴》等典籍中，1994年应邀赴日本东京、京都讲学及学术交流。《夜色》获“第6届全国美展”铜奖，中国美术馆收藏。《蓝色的早晨》获“中国当代工笔画学会首届大展”金叉奖。《湘溪》获“中国当代工笔山水画展”一等奖。《静影沉碧》获“中国当代工笔学会2届大展”二等奖。《瑞绿》获“中国当代工笔学会3届大展”三等奖。
