宋庆，字广大，生于内蒙古宁城，毕业于内蒙古美术学院。于2002年在首届中国美协高研班深造，师从刘大为、白庚延、霍春阳等著名画家。现任文化部书画艺术委员会会员、中国工艺美术家协会会员、中国书画家协会会员、中国书画研究院副秘书长、中国美协创作中心委员。
其作品气势磅薄，画风中西融合，在中国美术馆、国家博物馆、军事博物馆、法国、德国、日本等展出，多次在各大美展获奖。出版有《宋庆画集》，并编入《中国书画典藏》、《全国书画作品精品集》。
1986年国画《壮丽山河》荣获全国武林杯金奖。
1992年国画《石林》荣获全国希望杯金奖。
1997年国画《回归颂》荣获全国书画"五个一工程"优秀作品奖。
2000年国画《边关月》荣获内蒙昭君杯银奖。
2002年国画《金秋喜讯》荣获全国四海名人书画大赛金奖。
2005年国画《千里之行》荣获电影百年佳作奖。
2007年七月受邀赴北京会议中心奥运媒体楼会议厅创作作品，同年10月受邀天安门书画藏馆特约作画。
