The new art style, from 1890 to 1914, explores the new style of visual art and architecture developed in Europe and North America in the late nineteenth Century. The exhibition is divided into three parts: the first part focuses on the 1900 World Expo in Paris, the new art movement was established as the first new decorative style in twentieth Century; the second part studies the influence of the style of the source; third to see its development and achievements, the main city in Europe and North america.
At its height one hundred years ago, the new art style was consistent with the attempt to create an international style based on decoration. It is composed of a brilliant and dynamic generation of artists and designers, who try to shape the modern era for the development of an art form. At this extraordinary time, we are now living in the city to understand it. The old customs, habits and artistic styles are combined with the new, a wide range of contradictory images and ideas. Many artists, designers and architects are excited about new technologies and lifestyles, while others retreat to the past, embracing the spirit world, fantasy and myth.
New art is in many ways a response to the industrial revolution. Some artists welcome technological advances and embrace the aesthetic possibilities of new materials such as cast iron. Others are interested in the interest in the mass production of mechanical products, and aim to enhance the art of decoration to the level of art by applying the highest standards of technology and design to everyday objects. The designers of the new art style also believe that all the art should be in harmony with the creation of a "all art" or Gesamtkunstwerk: architecture, furniture, textiles, clothing and jewelry are in line with the principles of new art.
