 Adolf Jordan was born in Nimes, France in 1825. In 1844 Jordan entered the Academy of fine arts. From 1864 to 1866, Jordan's paintings were widely recognized. Jordan's exhibition in Paris in 1855 and in New York in 1876 were both very successful. The color of Adolf Jordan's paintings is very subtle. The simple background, the light and shade crisscross, the whole picture gives a sense of peace and tranquility. In 1889, the painter Adolf Jordan died at the age of 64.
