The eldest of the three children, he spent his early years in peace and family atmosphere. Even as a young boy, Blanchard was determined to become an artist and liked to paint his home scenes and the surrounding countryside. Desiring to promote development and blossom his gifts, his parents sent him to Blowa for reference. Then they sent him to Ryan, the chief city of Brittany, where he was well versed in art.
