《聊斋图说》创作于清代晚期，是根据清代小说家蒲松龄（公元1640—1715年）创作的小说《聊斋志异》，由徐润组织当时的一些名家高手所绘，呈送宫廷。约光绪二十六年（1900），八国联军侵华，《聊斋图说》被沙俄帝国军队掠夺带走。直至1958年4月19日，原苏联对外文化联络委员会将其移交归还中国。"Liaozhai Tushuo" was created in the late Qing Dynasty. It was based on the novel "Liaozhai Zhiyi", written by Pu Songling (1640-1715 AD), a novelist of the Qing Dynasty. It was painted by Xu Run and presented to the court by some famous experts at that time. About the 26th year of Guangxu (1900), the Eight-Power Allied Forces invaded China. Liaozhai Tushuo was plundered and taken away by the Tsarist Imperial Army. Until April 19, 1958, the former Soviet Council for Foreign Cultural Liaison handed it over to China.
