本幅落款:“万历甲戌五月四日,茂苑文嘉。”钤“文嘉之印”、“肇锡余以嘉名”白文印,“文水道人”朱文印。“甲戌”为明万历二年(1574年),作者时年74岁。
作者在题记中自称仿董源,实则主要是由文徵明一路而来的画法,反映了当时吴中文人游乐的生活情趣。笔法工整细致,构图繁密严谨,气韵苍逸澹然。山石用干笔淡墨皴擦,复以浓墨点苔,树木枝干行笔松秀,枝叶多用浓淡不同的墨点组成,罩一层花青,近浓远淡,层次分明。图绘山石曲径,溪头岸畔,小桥舟船,酒肆小店,行人酒客,正如作者自题:“野店山桥溪路远,岚光林影翠烟铺。寒骞破笠冲风去,行旅攀援酒载沽。”

This paragraph reads: "May 4th, Maoyuan Wenjia, Wanli Jiaxu." Jun's "seal of Wen Jia", "Zhao Xiyu's name is Jia", "Wen Shui Dao Ren" and Zhu Wen Yin. Jiaxu is the second year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty (1574). The author was 74 years old.
In the inscription, the author claims to imitate Dong Yuan, but in fact it is mainly the painting method from Wen Zhengming, which reflects the life interest of the Chinese people in Wu at that time. The brushwork is neat and meticulous, the composition is complex and rigorous, and the charm is graceful and graceful. Rocks and mountains are rubbed with dry brush and light ink, and moss is dotted with thick ink. Tree branches and leaves are mostly composed of different ink dots. They are covered with a layer of blue, near or far, with distinct layers.
