此图构思巧妙,将原为各自独立的室内外空间通过前后窗的开启而连通起来,从而表现出三个不同的空间环境:屋前是秀石与鱼缸点缀的庭园小景;屋内是女子秉烛缝衣、勤于女红的情景;屋后则可见红色的蝙蝠在青竹丛间穿插飞翔的场景。作者在此利用“蝠”与“福”的谐音赋予了此图“鸿福而至”的吉祥寓意。此图的创作目的是宣扬宫掖女子勤于女红的美德。女红包括纺织、刺绣、缝纫等,是古代衡量女子妇德的标准之一。因此,图中缝纫的场景所占画幅最大,也最为生动。
此图中的女子发型与《雍亲王题书堂深居图屏•立持如意轴》中女子的发型相同,名为“螺髻”。明代王渔洋曾有“青螺如髻秀堪餐”之诗句对此种发型加以赞美。

Prince Yong's Inscription Hall Deep in Picture Screen has 12 pieces, which is one of them.
This picture is ingeniously conceived and connects the original independent indoor and outdoor space through the opening of the front and back windows, thus showing three different space environments: the garden scenes decorated with stone and fish tank in front of the house; the scenes of women sewing with candles and being diligent in female red; and the scenes of red bats flying among green bamboo bushes behind the house. In this paper, the author uses the homonym of "bat" and "fortune" to endow this picture with the auspicious meaning of "hongfu comes". The purpose of this picture is to publicize the virtues of Gongye women's diligence in female red. Nuhong, including textiles, embroidery and sewing, is one of the criteria to measure women's morality in ancient times. Therefore, the sewing scene in the picture occupies the largest and most vivid picture.
The woman's hairstyle in this picture is the same as that in Prince Yong's Book Inscription Hall's Picture Screen, Lizhi Ruyi Axis. It is called "snail bun". In the Ming Dynasty, Wang Yuyang once praised this hairstyle in his poem "Green snails are like a bun of beautiful food".
