赵保国，别称赵国典，1962生，河南武陟县人，新乡学院文化与信息传播研究所副所长、原新乡学院艺术学院副院长、美术专业教授、硕士研究生导师，中国美术家协会会员。
1985年毕业于河南师范大学获学士学位，2002年取得教育硕士学位；2004年在中央美院参加美术史论培训学习；2006年在中国美协培训中心中国画高级研修班结业；2008年12月至2009年12月在清华大学美术学院中国画造型艺术高研班研修并结业；2012年9月至2013年7月在首都师范大学张立辰花鸟画工作室访学，2015年9月至2016年7月，在首都师大吉瑞森工作室学习，师从张立辰先生、吉瑞森教授。
1997年，作品《醉倒三春雪》入选“中亨杯”全国书画展；
1998年，作品《牡丹》入选中国文联办公厅主办的“中国黄河魂艺术大展”；
2010年，作品《中华魂》入选“中国当代花鸟画展”；
2012年，作品《紫气幽幽》入选“2012全国中国工笔画展”；
2012年，作品《紫气东来》入选“荆浩杯”中国画双年展，并获优秀奖；
2013年，作品《春》入选“吉祥草原丹青鹿城”全国中国画展；

在《美术》、《美术观察》、《艺术百家》等杂志发表论文20余篇、作品50余幅，出版有《中外美术史学习指南》和《赵保国花鸟画集》，作品作为礼品赠送美国俄亥俄州立大学、圣母大学、法国巴黎美术学院等，多幅作品被博物馆、美术馆和藏家收藏。
