李明，字、石煜，1963年出生于浙江杭州。自3岁起受家传熏陶，酷爱书画艺术。改革开放初年，求学于中国美术院校，大学本科毕业，九零年深造于书法学院书法与篆刻艺术研究生班。系笕桥美术院（前身中国民主促进会杭州民进书画院)主创人院委会主任委员、院长/国家一级美术师，德国Fj-p-r-s大学中国画班终身名誉教授，香港高等教育研究生院美术专业学科及高研班教授，英国牛津艺术学院名誉教授，中国最具网络人气美术家评委会艺术顾问，中国牡丹画院名誉院长、中国东方美院客座教授、中华民族文化艺术研究所研究员、教授，全国多家书协、美协、文艺联合会、印社及民间书画社团/会员、理事、全国委员、社员、名誉主席、副主席等。因独具艺术理念。故，在2002年至2015年间，荣幸地被美国、德国及瑞典国等三所高等艺术学府授予荣誉博士学位。
作品擅长中国花鸟画兼工中国山水画、人物画、篆隶书法、篆刻。早在八十年代初至九十年代有近百幅作品在国内外大赛中获奖或参展出版，九十年代中期至两千年以来，有大量作品、个人传略刊发收藏或转载于国内外近千家报刊杂志、电台、电视、文博美术藏馆及网络媒体。
1998年及2004年，因国画牡丹作品独具风格，在众多参赛候选作品中，脱颖而出，名列榜首。故，在北京被评为“中国书画百杰”、“全国百杰书画家”，被誉为“李氏国花创始人”。
2007年底，应德意志联邦共和国有关部门特邀，出访欧洲举办个人《中国书画艺术作品展》，并在德国Fj-p-r-s大学校园内举行为期一周的《中国书画艺术》巡回演讲，促进了中德两国人民友谊的进一步发展。
2009年10月，在（北京）中国美术馆举行的“庆祝新中国及人民政协成立60周年全国书画名家作品大展”时，作品《六十硕果》被特邀指定选入为国展作品，并出版成书。
2010年底，与范曾等十位全国书画名家一起，被评为2010（首届）中国最具网络人气美术家。
出版发行《李明国画作品选》、《李明国画选》、《李明书画艺术》、《李明书画》、《水韵钱塘-杭州主题画（五水共导）》、《诗画西湖-西湖十景（世界申遗通过周年纪念册）》及央视、浙视专题片《俏笔生国花--李明》及《双燕相约》著名书画家李明先生约访录等。
