王震

王震，字一亭，号白龙山人，浙江省吴兴人，生于上海。早年学习任伯年画法，中年后拜吴昌硕为师，曾参与发起豫园书画善会。好佛，曾任中国佛教会会长，晚年曾为全国艺术家协会理事。著作有《白龙山人诗稿》等。
王震在46岁前，学习任颐画法：50岁以后，画风转向吴昌硕。60岁以后的作品，渐显出熔任颐与吴昌硕于一炉的特色，即在浑厚、凝重方面似吴氏，却仍保留着任氏清俊的意味。他长于写意，多画古代历史人物如苏武、陶潜、孔子、老子、钟馗，也画民间人物，如和合二仙等。此图是王震49岁时所作，画中钟馗正手指从天而降的蜘蛛，形态生动。尤其钟馗形象全用朱笔所绘，红袍虹面，不同于他作，直接体现了其师吴昌硕苍劲雄浑、奔放精微的画风。在吴昌硕诸弟子中，王震是最有影响和成就的画家之一。
